HDIRCNFG.DOC - Documentation for HotDIR Plus Configuration utility 1.0
By running HDIRCNFG.EXE you can change all the options in HotDIR Plus 7.1 to
your liking, including the colors displayed for different aspects of HDIRPLUS,
directory sort options, pause, clear screen, and other options. These changes
are permanent and should only be made to a BACKUP copy of HDIRPLUS.EXE.
If you just want to bypass an option, use the command line option switches that
are recognized by HotDIR Plus (Type HDIRPLUS /H) for help with options.
Again, all changes you make with HDIRCNFG will be permanent! So please be
careful. If you aren't careful you could get really strange colors and results!
HDIRCNFG will ask you if you want change certain options and you may either
keep the current value or option by pressing enter or you may enter a new value
or option.
Current values for number of columns to display in HDIRPLUS are 1, 2, 4, or 6
columns. Sort options are F,N,E,D,S. Colors can be 0 to 255, but please be
careful! Some colors are blinking or non-visible (i.e. black on black).
Here are the 16 basic colors supported by all color monitors. If you have a
monochrome monitor or LCD display, you may want to play around with some
different colors that suit your screen. Some LCD displays give different
shades of gray. Some monochrome monitors recognize the bold or highlighted
attribute of colors 8 through 15. Try these to distinguish them from your
normal file colors. For a complete list of all colors and their attributes,
see any programming book for the PC.
Number Color Number Color Number Color
0 black 6 brown 11 light cyan
1 blue 7 white 12 light red
2 green 8 grey 13 light magenta
3 cyan 9 light blue 14 yellow
4 red 10 light green 15 bright white
5 magenta
You will be asked at the end of your configuration session if you want to save
the updates. Please make sure you include the full drive and pathname along
with the filename of HDIRPLUS.EXE when the configuration program asks for it
if the program does not reside in the current subdirectory. Otherwise just the
filename (with extension) is required.
This file along with HDIRCNFG.EXE is included as part of the Kinsman-Redeemer
Utilities & HotDIR Plus stand-alone package and may not be distributed without
the other files. See the HDIRPLUS.DOC and PAYFORME.DOC file for more details.
